CSE Pillars

Education Pillar Committee

One of the main pillars of the CSE is to lead education initiatives including:

  1. CME delivered through CSE Echo Weekend and CCC spotlight sessions and workshops, and hosting of regional or topic focused sessions/webinars;
  2. development of content for sonographer and echocardiographer trainee curricula through organization of vast archived resources and creation of new content as needed; and
  3. establish national sharing of current echocardiographic educational information through online Journal Clubs, CSE website, social media platforms, and collaboration with international sibling partner organizations to link to relevant approved educational content.

To accomplish this, the CSE has constituted the CSE Education Committee. 

The mission of the Committee is to promote and facilitate high quality education in the fields of echocardiography and cardiovascular ultrasound through translation, and mobilization (delivery) of knowledge to echocardiographic practitioners with the goal of optimizing patient care and clinical outcomes.

Clinical Pillar Committee

One of the main pillars of the CSE is to lead clinical initiatives including clinical practice updates and guidelines, quality improvement/quality assurance projects, and clinical initiatives/collaborations with affiliate societies and international echo societies. To accomplish this, the CSE has constituted the CSE Clinical Pillar Committee.

The mission of the Committee is to promote, facilitate and perform clinical initiatives and projects that enhances, improves and expands the practice of echocardiography in Canada.

Research Pillar Committee

One of the main pillars of the CSE is to lead research initiatives including basic science, translational knowledge, clinical studies, and/or population health. To accomplish this, the CSE has constituted the CSE Research Committee.

The mission of the Committee is to promote and facilitate high quality research in the fields of echocardiography and cardiovascular ultrasound through creation of knowledge and its translation into best clinical practices.

CPD Pillar Committee

The CSE provides echocardiography related CPD to its membership as well as the Canadian cardiovascular community.

The mission of the Committee is to position CSE as a Canadian echocardiography community leader in knowledge translation and cardiovascular continuing professional development.
