  • Current registration ARDMS and/or CARDUP and/or CRCS, Canadian Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers Registration.
  • A minimum of one year recent experience

Cardiologist with Echocardiography Fellowship Training – Trillium Health Partners

Trillium Health Partners (THP) is the largest community based academic health network in Ontario serving over one million residents in the communities of Mississauga, Peel Region and West Toronto. The hospital encompasses three main sites – Credit Valley Hospital, Mississauga Hospital, and Queensway Health Centre – offering a full range of acute care hospital services, as well as a variety of community-based specialized programs.

THP is a regional cardiac centre with a full range of services including cardiac surgery, interventional cardiology and electrophysiology. There are a total 33 CCU/CSICU beds and 86 inpatient beds located at the Mississauga Hospital and Credit Valley Hospital.

We are seeking a Cardiologist to be a member of our Cardiology Division primarily at our Mississauga Hospital location with some limited TEE/echo support for our Credit Valley Hospital location. The ideal candidate would have FRCPC certification in Internal Medicine with subspecialty certification in Cardiology, with additional fellowship in echocardiography undertaken in a recognized Echocardiography training centre. The individual would also be expected to participate in the Division general cardiology call schedule.

The organization is an affiliated academic teaching centre with the University of Toronto. The preferred candidate would be expected to participate in teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate medical learners. Excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to an inter-professional care model are also essential.

Cardiac Sonographer needed in the Newmarket and Alliston area, Ontario

Cardiac Sonographer needed in the Newmarket and Alliston area (must be willing to travel).

Job Description:

The selected candidate/s will perform a variety of echocardiography techniques in order to obtain optimal images to assist with the detection and diagnosis of conditions and diseases of the cardiovascular system. Tests will include but not be limited to:

  • Echocardiograms/Doppler exams
  • Stress echo tests

Requirements:

• Must be a graduate of an accredited program in Cardiac Diagnostic Medical Sonography / Adult Echocardiography

• Current registration ARDMS and/or CARDUP and/or CRCS, Canadian Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers Registration

• Current BCLS certification required

• A minimum of two years recent experience

• Ability to prioritize and accommodate urgent requests

• Entering relevant data into the diagnostic imaging information system

• Prepare accurate reports for physician interpretation

• Demonstrates ability to work effectively in a busy clinical environment

• Ability to assess, evaluate and respond to patients based on age or other functional limitations

• Ability and confidence to work independently and act as a resource on behalf of the department.  Work according to our company procedures and policies

• Computer literacy required

• Assist patients with emphasis on quality patient care while maintaining patient confidentiality;

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Demonstrated ability to use tactfulness, initiative and independent judgment

• Demonstrated good attendance record with the ability to maintain this same standard

• Notify cardiologist of significant scan deviations that may necessitate immediate attention to the patient

• Excellent communication (oral, written, telephone) and interpersonal skills with a well-developed customer service focus; dealing effectively with patients, physicians, and the community

• Demonstrates a commitment to customer service when dealing with patients, colleagues, volunteers and other members of the community and public

• Ensure that equipment is well kept and in good working order

• Perform other cross-functional responsibilities as requested
